I am a licensed clinical psychologist in Pennsylvania and am authorized to provide telehealth in 40 states and District of Columbia through PSYPACT.
I received a bachelor’s degree in communication from Cornell University in 2010, a master’s in clinical psychology from Marquette University in 2014 and a doctorate in clinical psychology from Marquette in 2018. I completed a predoctoral internship in integrated behavioral health from Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in 2018 and a fellowship in clinical psychology with the division of Hematology/Oncology/BMT at the Children’s Hospital of Richmond.
I have years of experience providing evidence-based therapy including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for anxiety, depression, and chronic health and pain conditions. I also am trained and experienced in providing Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), a parent-focused intervention for children with anxiety and somatic symptom presentations.
I have particular expertise in supporting the treatment of physical health conditions. Many physical health conditions can be stressful and this can impact our mood, anxiety, and ability to function. In turn, our thoughts and feelings can play a role in physical symptoms, such as pain, dizziness, and nausea. I use a biopsychosocial framework to understand and treat these conditions, including collaborating with medical teams.
I use a strength- and evidence- based approach with clients. This means that I only use therapeutic techniques that have been scientifically proven for decades to be successful. It also means that I tailor each approach to meet the individual needs of each client. I believe that effective therapy needs to help build skills such as understanding and regulating emotions, relaxation strategies, understanding and managing thought patterns and beliefs, communication, and social skills, etc.
